With the introduction of Lee Ha-young, a board member of the Korean Barun Meak Research Society and a public health educator for a high school,  Instructor Kim Jin-hee and Kim Chae-young conducted a tea therapy education which based on Barunmaek’s understanding of Yin-Yang Five Elements at the J High School in Gyeonggi Province on July 17.

Ten girl students and Ten boy students in first-year high school who chose this class attended and took two hours of each class, divided into the boy student and girl student class. Students interested in psychology, students interested in health care, students interested in energy, and students interested in customized traditional health care methods were all motivated to choose the class. Students showed great interest in the principle of the traditional Yin-Yang Five Elements and learned quickly and joyfully. You can specifically see through anonymous feedback below a very positive attitude of applying what they have learned to their health and life.

We hope that Barunmaek’s traditional health education will continue to contribute to young people rediscovering the wisdom of tradition and the value of the understanding of the Five Elements of Yin and Yang, and also help them manage their health. Class requests in the U.S. or Korea can be made at info@barunmaek.org .

The student’s feedback was that the student was surprised that the student’s personality could be described so accurately  because the student had a long face and that shows that the student has a gentle personality, and was the same as a “Tree energy type”.  The student wrote “I will make an effort to supply my lack of energy since now I know how I can supplement it. It was also fun to know that the tea my grandfather made when I was bloated came from the wisdom of Yin-Yang Five elements.”

I am interested in nursing, but I wanted to learn about traditional Korean health care methods and experience them firsthand, so I chose the class and it was very beneficial to know how to choose and drink the tea that suits me.
