Excerpts from the Article Translated to English:

The human body is a miniature universe within the vast cosmos through Qi, Meridians, Maek.

In 2008, I explained the meridians to an American astronomy researcher by showing the ‘meridian doll’ with the meridians marked on the doll’s body. He was an expert who connected a supercomputer that measures distances in space with world-class astronomical telescopes. When he listened to my explanation while looking at the ‘meridian doll’, the first words he said were, “Wow, the human body is like space because there is a measured distance mark and a blood spot like a major constellation.” Strong in inspiration and intuition, he discovered the ‘Emerald Cut Galaxy’ in space and now he is a professor in Australia to teach astronomy.

2,000 years ago, the visionaries of ancient China’s Taoists saw the human body as a microcosm corresponding to the bigger cosmos, as the astronomer’s first impression on the human body with meridians. They called the state in which energy from the bigger cosmos reached the level of the three realms (the solar system) “Qi”, which flows from our body to the main passage corresponding to each of the Five Elements, and the material and spiritual manifestations of the Five Elements are connected throughout the human body through the energy manifestation “Qi”.

There are a total of 12 types of vertical paths, each of which includes five kinds of Five Elements and the 6th energy, which are classified into Yin and Yang. There are a total of 24 vertical meridians in the human body with one set each 12 on the left and right. There are also the horizontal paths, which is a flow that extends out like branches from the main river, the vertical meridians. These roads that flow horizontally and vertically are the Gyeongrak Maek(經絡脈), which is called the Gyeongrak in short.

The left side of the Chinese character “脈” means flesh(月), and the right side means a path divided into (𠂢), and the “Maek” in the human body refers to the passage through which the “Qi” flowing in the body stretches out in the flesh, but it also refers to the flow or wave of “Qi” from that passage. Maek collectively expresses phenomena and signals that appear in the human body such as pain, discoloration, discomfort, and the appearance of foreign substances, etc. on each of the Five Elements and the meridians when there is out of harmony and balance in our bodies and minds.

Ancient Chinese Taoists of the Yin Yang Five Elements thought that the human body, life, and the universe integratively and believed that changes in the human body, whether good or bad, were a reflection from life and cosmic phenomena and an opportunity to gain insight through the human body like a mirror given by  creator. Therefore, it is possible to confirm various historical records that emphasized meditation practice and discipline by Chinese traditional medical scholars who studied the human body in ancient times.

This is the story of a couple who have learned the advanced level of the Barun Maek Course. One day, after the husband became angry with his wife, he suffered a severe headache in the region of the head where the meridians of the Tree energy as shown in the picture. The wife remembered what they learned from the course, and sincerely asked him to see the change in the headache after his apology. After hearing the wife’s words, while he was sorry anyway, the husband apologized. He was surprised because the headache improved quickly after his apology. This is the result of supplementing the deficiencies by recognizing signs that the anger caused by the lack of Tree energy should be controlled and restoring benevolence to avoid bad karma that hurts others’ minds.

Although the human meridians were in even ancient documents, nobody knows who discovered them or whether they were God-given. Just as you may need to follow the map to see if a given map is a reliable one when exploring a new world, so do meridians. Fortunately, since meridians are the paths of each person’s body, anyone who understands the Yin-Yang and Five Elements thought frame can experience and confirm them firsthand and substitute them for observation.

As a human being who is a microcosm connected to the bigger cosmos through meridians, what shortcomings do the signals being sent to my body today mean to compensate for?

Let’s look back at the soft and kind nature of the Tree energy, the warm-emitting courtesy of the Fire energy, the sincere and steady belief of the Earth energy, the tightness and righteousness that upholds the Metal energy’s standards, the smooth wisdom of inclusion of the Water energy, the harmony and balance of the 6th energy through regulation. After that, let’s take a moment to gain insight into what changes will come to my body and the situation around me, using the wisdom of the ancient Chinese science of Yin Yang Five Elements.
