Dr. Yu Xiao, researcher for Barun Maek, traveled to Minchuan(銘傳) University on September 4 and at the Central Police(中央警察) University on September 11th to promote using the Yin-Yang Five Elements in academic discourse. Dr. Xiao is a researcher in disaster resilience and has been working with Barun Maek Research Society since 2021 trying to find convergence between traditional Chinese way of understanding problems through Yin-Yang Five Elements with contemporary academic discourse. The title of her lecture was “The Applications of Chinese Ancient Science in Disaster Management”. Promoting the value of such ideas in East Asia is core to the Barun Maek Research Society’s mission.
