Won Myunghae
Won Myunghae is a retired teacher in her mid 70s. It has been more than 17 years since she began eating Barun Maek Saengsheik for a research project, “Body Cultivation”, starting with 90 grams as a meal replacement. She looks much younger than her real age since she has maintained elastic skin, which is a symbol of slow aging, without any medical intervention. However, she suffered from insomnia years ago because of a family issue. At that time, she stopped Saensheik intake and relied on sleeping pills to sleep for months until a strong intuition awakened in her. Since then, she has been worried that she will suffer from insomnia again although she recovered through her best efforts by applying Barun Maek Research in her daily life. If you want to know more about “Barun Maek Saengsheik”, please refer to this page. https://barunmaek.org/research-project-profiles/ On February 10, 2026, she was struggling with insomnia which blocked her deep sleep for three days. Her expensive bed that was purchased to prevent insomnia did not work well at that moment. She recalled what was a trigger and she remembered that she had traveled and ate out many times. The triggers she had discovered so far were overeating for dinner, some tense news, and conflict between people causing her to overthink. She called a senior researcher from Barun Maek and got some suggestions on how to calm her energy from the researcher that follows. After her efforts she applied what she learned from Barun Maek with Barun Maek researcher’s counseling.

What Barun Maek Saw:
Won Myung-hae is curious and maintains good relationships in a wide range of networks, since she has a Yang-Tree energy person’s personality at making new attempts. Due to the wide range of human relationships, there is a lot of time for conversations. According to the Yin-Yang theory from Ancient China, energy rises during this process, making her uneasy to fall asleep as if you had a light in your head. It is good to reduce conversation and not look at bright screens such as TV or cell phones about 30 minutes before bedtime to lower energy. Especially if news of a late call causes tension or increased thoughts, it prevents energy from flowing out for a good night’s sleep. It is also a good idea to block out light as much as possible with a curtain. One of the suggestions for her is to warm the lower body and feet, also following the Yin-Yang theory since the lower body is Yin and should be activated by heat to sleep.
As she has discovered, overeating also prevents her from falling asleep because she continues to move her intestines.
Rather than trying to do something and leading, it is necessary to follow the feeling of becoming and letting go. This energy corresponds to the Yin as well. but it is also related to Water energy as it flows down like water in the five elements. Wisdom is the virtue associated with Water energy. Slow cello music is the kind of music that fills this energy. The colors include dark blue or black.
After this experience, she said “When people experience unexpected things, they have a lot of thoughts and are nervous. I think everything in life is a process of learning, and the meditative idea of the arrangement of all-powerful beings relieves the tension. When I think it’s something I can’t do, I feel at ease when I leave it to myself. So I am daily doing meditation that relaxes and puts down the mind helps as well.”
